What is Density?

Wig Density is defined as how thick or thin the hair on your lace wig will be. The standard and most popular choice is 120% which is Light/Natural Density. The average human head is considered to be between 100%-120%.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE BEST WIG DENSITY?

The hair density that you select is really based on personal preference and what you feel looks and compliments you best. The standard percentage and most popular choice is 120% - 130% which is considered Natural/Light Density. The average healthy human head of hair is considered to be between 120%. Keep in mind that each clients natural hair will grow differently. 

This density chart below is a visual guide and description to determine how much hair is used on a lace wig, and how full your lace wig will appear. 

Density Chart Percentages:

90% (Sparse) Is ONLY recommended for those clients with thin or very fine hair seeking to replicate an age-realistic look. When selecting this option please understand the wig will bald very quickly and re-ventilation work or the purchase of a new wig will be required much sooner then any other density option.

100% - 110% (Extra Light) This density is intended for those who have natural fine or thin diameter hair and they want to mimic their natural texture. 

120% - 130 % (Natural/Light)  This is a realistic natural looking density; it is not too thick, not too thin. It is a “normal” density. This is also our stock density option. The hairline will have a light density and transition to a slightly overall thicker density throughout for a natural look.

150% (Natural/Medium ) A nice density for ladies who want their hair to look natural with a little added fullness. A full style with a lot of bounce, body and movement. 

180% (Full) Intended for clients who desire a full and voluminous hair look.This density is heavy and for clients who like a full style.Recommended for hair lengths 20” and longer)

200% (Extra Full /Glam) This density is very heavy. It is usually ordered by ladies who want their hair to look extra glamorous more of a celebrity look (recommended for hair lengths 24" and longer). 

Please Note: Ready-to-ship stock wigs have 100%  hairline density 120% - 130% [Natural/Light] overall density. 

 

Our density recommendations based on hair length: 

Remember hair length should be considered when selecting hair density for your custom wig. For example 12 inches with 150% density will not look the same as 24 inches with 150% density.  

12" - 14"   120% - 130% 

16" - 18”   150%  

20” - 24"   180% 

26" - 30"   200% +  

CUSTOM DENSITY: 

If you want to customize the density on you full lace wig please order a Custom Wig.

Then you can choose between two different density amounts (1)Hairline (2)Overall Density. However, we do recommend you choose a lighter density at the hairline (between 90% - 100%) 

**It is generally better to have more hair than less hair because you can always thin out the lace wig if need be. You will also have more hair to accommodate for daily wear and normal shedding from grooming/styling over the life of the wig**
