How to Refer a Veteran.
1.Consult with a Primary Care Physician at the VA Hospital
Veterans need to request a consultation for an evaluation of their hair loss. During this appointment, they will discuss their need for a custom cranial prosthetic due to their hair loss condition. Veterans should inform their physician that they wish to work with Heavenly Tresses for their medical wig.
2.Make a Consultation Request with Heavenly Tresses
Once the consultation is completed, veterans should call our Hair Replacement Specialist at 1(855) 487-3773 for a complimentary consultation. If a referral or prior authorization is already available, please inform us. For first-time claims, our billing department will assist in verifying eligibility.
3.Choose the Best Option for the Veteran
During the phone consultation, our Certified Hair Replacement Specialist will guide the veteran in selecting the best options for their wig, including cap style, hair texture, color, and density.
4.Submit Information to VA Prosthetics Department
After the consultation, we will submit all the necessary information to the local VA Prosthetics Department to secure the veteran’s claim. Once approved, we will begin creating the custom prosthetic.
5.Arrange Delivery
Upon completion of the prosthetic, we will contact the veteran to arrange delivery. The entire process is simple, seamless, and at no cost to the veteran.

Yes. Heavenly Tresses is an active registered federal vendor and works with VA facilities to provide custom medical cranial prostheses for eligible Veterans. Our team can provide the vendor, quotation, and order information required by the appropriate VA purchasing contact
Can a Veteran identify Heavenly Tresses as their preferred cranial prosthesis provider?
Yes. A Veteran may communicate their preferred provider to their VA clinician and Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service team. Heavenly Tresses can then provide the information needed for the request to be considered through the applicable VA authorization and purchasing process. Final authorization and procurement remain with the VA.
What HCPCS code does Heavenly Tresses use for cranial prostheses?
Heavenly Tresses provides qualifying cranial prostheses under HCPCS code A9282, which identifies a wig, any type, each. Our team can provide applicable unit specifications and quotation documentation for an authorized VA purchase.

For an authorized case, Heavenly Tresses can provide the appropriate clinical unit specifications, quotation, vendor information, and supporting order documentation requested by the VA facility. Our team works with the appropriate VA contact to help facilitate the purchasing process.
Does a VA facility have to have previously purchased from Heavenly Tresses?
Not necessarily. VA facilities purchase prosthetic and orthopedic aids from local and nationwide sources, and PSAS includes purchasing personnel responsible for prosthetic procurement. If Heavenly Tresses has not previously worked with a particular facility, our team can provide the vendor and quotation information requested for the facility's applicable purchasing process. and will then be added to there vendor list.
